Shenton Church Geelong

from w
There's been a long-standing relationship between Geelong High School and Shenton Church opposite. We lived next door for nine years and school-kids would be in the halls behind our house doing drama, phys ed. or other classes. I found the little A5 book that I had filled with notes, observations and drawings about Shenton and maybe will do something about a document to add to the memorabilia at the Geelong High School's 100th Anniversary Celebration coming up from October 10th.

Here is a start, using a sketch of one side of the Shenton Church building and the 'singing in the spirit' sounds coming from a Dutch charismatic-type church group on Sundays. (The school had the buildings for the other days of the week.) The name Shenton came from a Miss Shenton who started a school for poor children on the site in the 1850s.
