Rather go barefoot actually

from w
I added a bit of scribble to the shoes pic from yesterday by using a blue pen and blue pencil, then messed about using Picasa and Photo-edit. The pink and red are a bit creepy but I think clicking on negative made the black go pink and the blue go red! Click on a picture to see enlarged if you wish. I then found an old drawing of a bunch of my shoes - now most have been thrown out. Actually in our family, we never wear shoes inside the house at all, and I don't even in the garden. They say I have soles like the Fijian Beqa firewalkers! The weather is so hot and steamy and a storm is about so let's hope we have a heavy rain soon for the poor straggling plants in the garden.

An obsession with shoes

from w
I can't understand why people buy so many pairs of shoes, I really can't! Though for the moment I do have an obsession with drawing shoes! One sketch here and variations. I decided the background was too dark so added some white pastel to soften it. It's still my clumsy style though. One pair of sandals was given to me but I don't wear them, one is anybody's flip-flops, one is Peceli's sandals which I sometimes wear though they are rather large!

When I bought some flip-flops at a Newcomb op shop I told the guy why I wanted them and he said - one man was walking along a city street and met a man wearing one shoe, so he said, 'I notice you've lost a shoe.' The one-shoe man replied, 'No. I've found one.'
