Where has the White Statue man gone?

from w
Although there are still buskers in the main streets of Geelong, bawling out their songs and strumming their guitars, we used to have a maverick actor, Rick Miller I think his name was, who used to amuse the shoppers as the White Statue man. He was so still, you could swear he was inanimate until he bent over and gave some gift of lollies to some intrigued children. He used to say that he spent more on white paint than on food. He started his act in 1997 when he was rather down-and-out and hanging out with street performers. He once said, 'It's hard to explain when I deal with a crowd, this feeling comes over me - a good light feeling, and the crowd's smiling and it just keeps going and going.'

But I haven't seen him around lately. I wonder if he ever got to Paris to see his idol, the mime artist.
