Flowering gum drawings
from w
Today I picked some leaves and flowers from a tree near the road and examined the shapes and patterns. The brown leaves and gumnuts were as interesting as the greener leaves and flowers. I was surprised to find that the black inside the flower was in fact scores of little black ants!

These are so beautiful. I like the way you've pushed the design elements towards abstraction! They're so full of vitality!
Jana,
Anything to get out of housework! Only kidding. That still gets done - but only up to a point. I can live with a certain amount of chaos. Today I went shopping for pretty $2 boxes, A4 plastic drawers, etc. to tidy up photograph collections, cuttings, drawings, etc. - an endeavour to be more systematic.

I'd recognize those eucalyptuses anywhere! Love them!
The trees are lovely and there are several in the nearby streets. But I was surprised by all the little black ants inside the flower. At present - it must be the heat -there are millions of ants around at present and they even got into the kitchen.
