The streets of Geelong

from w
On the way to our Monday book club discussion - this time on 'The Samurai's Garden' which my eight friends all loved enthusiastically, I took five photos in Little Malop Street in Geelong City shopping area, then I tweaked them a bit using Picasa and Photo-edit. A couple were made by overlapping two images using the Picasa Create collage. I haven't done much actual drawing lately at all, very busy with music, though I edited a manuscript last week for a friend and I was very rough with a pen so feel sorry now. Regret is something isn't it! Now I have a new book to read, 'The Boat' by Li Nam, and it's looking very good.

James Street corner

from w
I made a small painting based on the sketch of last week - corner of James and Little Malop Streets then made some variations. Not in the mood for drawing etc. these days and very busy with other trivia of daily life. I usually get into a contrary mood when Peceli is packing up for his annual trip to Fiji.

two bus stops in Geelong

from w
While waiting for the Herne Hill bus to leave the city area, I drew the Mexican Graffiti cafe next to a balloon shop in Yarra Street, then the bus driver took off before I'd finished. After visiting my friend in Herne Hill, I sketched near another bus stop where someone had knocked down a traffic sign then had to move quickly when the bus came careering down the road. So these are quick pencil and pen sketches.
