Another rotten hot day - up to 45 but at last by 5 p.m. the temperature had started dropping. It's still muggy but about 35. We spent some time today at the Newcomb library reading papers, ordering books to read and using the internet. So cool and beautiful, and full of people escaping from
their hot houses. Here's the cartoon from today's Herald Sun, very apt. Reminds me of the volunteer giving water to a koala in a famous photo during a bushfire some time ago. The state of Victoria has experienced a terrible tme this week with so many bush fires and grass fires, even on the outskirts of Melbourne such as at Craigiburn. The Grampians are suffering badly and if the wind turns the wrong way then Halls Gap is in danger.
