Landscaping the environment and little boxes

from w
You can hardly distinguish between some of the newer outer suburbs in Melbourne and Geelong as so many have rows of little boxes, not on hillsides but on flat areas and there's a keen landscaper who loves ponds, grass and low maintenance gardens. Here is one as Leopold extends towards/in between two lakes. The metal bird is a signifier of the abundant bird life that used to exist when this was Aboriginal land and birds still occasionally can be seen on the lakes. I think this housing area is called Reedy Lakes, and no doubt the newer and bigger development at Armstrong Creek out from Grovedale - also with metal bird sculptures - will have a similar look.
