what kind of fruit is this?

Peceli planted something that grew into a huge bush. I thought it was Chinese spinach and now there are fruits on it. Green, firm skin. Kind of round. Taste like cucumber. Are they edible?
What are they?

Hi Wendy it could be a pepino, if so they are edible, usually have bit of purple on the fruit and the fruit can get quite large.
Thanks Penny. I looked up 'pepino' and it seems to fit, but it seems we should leave them on the plant a bit longer to colour up. Peceli got the plant from a friend. Funny thing is, one of his friend's name is Pepino!
