Some interesting art blogs and mendhi hand painting

from w
When searching the web for mendhi hand decoration I came across an American artist who is inspired by mendhi patterns and she incorporates them into paintings such as one example here. Mendhi is decoration on the skin, mainly hands and feet, using henna and is a custom for Indian women, and also in Afghanistan and I presume other Middle Eastern countries. Samples of Heather Robinson's paintings can be found here.

Here is another interesting website. This website is about collages.

Wendy these are lovely. We had fantastic rain too and some springs are filling the dams. hope it keeps up. Fancy having to pay a $50 fine for sketching. Not fair at all.
I love the teacher of this class but I think in some ways we tried to fit too much in, my painted portrait was pretty awful but i hope to maybe do something with the drawings i have, A lovely girl who sat for us.

i love to get henna on my hands and feet. when we went to the states last feb., i got it on both and rec'd so many positive comments from ppl.

it's very popular here but usually w/ the younger set, but i still love it as does most expats.

there are different styles and my favorite is from india. you also get the styles from dubai, bahraini, indian, and i think qatari. it's all basically the same but some is much more intricate in design... which i like best.

Did you look up the link Penny? That artist does super paintings using the human body and decorative patterns such as mendhi.
