Home sweet home before the drought
The garden was flourishing then but now the grass is almost dead and the flowers unhappy. We did have light rain for a day and it snowed in Ballarat and on the outskirts of Melbourne - Crazy weather as it is near to summer.
It's an ordinary house, weatherboard underneath some kind of fake brick. Some former owner put up a name-plate 'The Manor' - so I don't know what he or she was thinking!

One trouble with beta is I must sign in before commenting.I forgot, Love your house and garden, and your story. I will be in Ballarat judging ponies on Sunday, I think from snow it will be quite hot.
Oh I forgot, no we live near Victor Harbor, about an hour and a quater on a good day from Adelaide. Millicent is much further away.
Well, Penny, I hope it is not snowing in Ballarat on Sunday! Actually it only snows there once in five or more years I think. Today is nice weather.
The reference to Victor Harbour in my Mum's story was I think, that they had stayed in Victor Harbour and the car ran into gravel near a road grader on their way back into Victoria. They were okay though except for a cut tongue or something. Dad had to have egg-flips for a few weeks! That was many many years ago of course but it was a family story told many times.

love your house... and the flowers are just gorgeous. sorry to hear that most everything has died. hopefully next year won't be so bad. looks very peaceful though!
The house suits us very well - 1930s style I think and we have a very large all purpose living room - L shaped - good for Fiji parties.
When Peceli retired we needed to buy our own place as we'd always lived in a manse for free. The kids chose this house because in the back yard there are two bungalows and a basketball ring and lots of cement. They were fanatics about Michael Jordan then.
