No room at the inn

Two stories/photos in today's Geelong Advertiser caught my attention. When placed together they reveal what a strange world we live in and what difference and indifference there is. A timely reminder of the story of 'No room at the inn'.
Here ends the sermon for the week!

I hear you, big-time, Wendy. Those two pictures are startling, side-by-side. I worked with the homeless for 18 years until I retired, and still marvel at this strange world, too.

P.S. And I forgot to add working people with low incomes, too. These folks-- homeless, low income, people with needs-- WANT to work. But there in not enough work, as we know, and not enough housing, either

Hello Annie and a happy Christmas to you. I was talking with a stranger at the bus stop in town and he wanted to discuss today's Advertiser stories and he also noticed the strange juxtaposition of the contrasting stories. Some of our friends and also ourselves don't have much money but we do have a roof over our heads and a network of relatives and friends so that is sufficient.

Funny how we were on the same track with our pre-Christmas posts.
