Finding some great music

frmo w
Instead of going to the Donation in Kind book sorting room this morning - because I have a sniffle and slight cough -I have a free three hours to go to youtube and find music and even download five pages of piano music! Here are some finds: to print out Mozart Piano Concerto 21 Andante go to http://www.mfiles.co.uk/scores/elvira-madigan-piano.pdf - I've been wanting this music for a long time but there are no shops in Geelong that sell classical music these days. I really don't like most of Mozart, but he certainly got it right for this one! You can watch it, listen to it on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIYgjyYvQ2o

Another favourite piece of music is from the old movie 'Diva' - a French film from 1981. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hsmoo97CVA - it's an aria from La Wally called Ebben? Ne andro lontana. Don't ask me the meaning though!

Next one - I already play on the piano - it's haunting and exquisite. Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No 1 on http://www.youtube.com/watch?=RBPQKKlupk

And lastly, the Humming Chorus from Madam Butterfly by Puccini - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luHFI-8TcEk

Yesterday I played the music at a funeral for an elderly gentleman from our church - the piano for 15 minutes, then the organ. I really like the piano best to play. The organ can get shrill and also I dislike any hint of tremolo. When it's my turn to turn up my toes, I'd like a full symphony orchestra to play (ha ha) and maybe go out to the Ride of the Valkyries! Maybe make them all squirm through half a dozen operatic areas - Song to the Moon and so on.

And here are a couple of pictures though the horses don't seem to have necks. It was an illustration to a story about going through a cave near a waterfall to discover a cult that worshipped JFK! Scratchboard - making white lines on black, then I did a reverse.
