Hmm...the stimulants (caffeine and benzedrine) seem to mess up the spider more than the hallucinogens.
Does this mean coffee is really more dangerous than marijuana? ;-)
I was surprised about the caffeine result. I saw these pics in an Age newspaper a few years ago and used the idea in a story I was writing at the time about a woman obsessed with spiders. Then I saw it again this week and though it hasn't anything to do with Geelong I thought it interesting. Of course, does it mean about our human brains go crazy after stimulants?

Actually, I remember reading about a study conducted by the police department of a major American city concerning the effects of various "intoxicants" on driving ability. Interestingly, the most dangerously intoxicated driver was one who drank moderate amounts of alcohol followed by lots of black coffee. Alcohol alone wasn't nearly as bad.
I know that after I drink strong coffee I lose my ability to concentrate, my short-term memory gets erratic, and my Japanese speaking ability goes straight to heck.
On the other hand, I speak Japanese (and German) better after a beer or two.
